For those of little faith who are tempted to write off Vintage 2024 English wine, our favourite wines this month come from the 2015 vintage to prove that amazing sparkling wine can be produced from really ‘challenging’ vintages provided you are patient!

The 2015 Blanc de Blancs is made with 100% hand-picked chardonnay; with the base wine fermented and aged in old oak barrels. This wine is dry, yet the aromas remind us of baked apple and lemon peel and is a beautiful wine to drink with food and will naturally match most fish dishes, especially those with a creamy sauce or a hint of spice.
This wine has picked up bunch of gold awards and rave reviews over the last year including a gold medal in the 2023 WineGB Awards and the 2024 Sommelier Wine Awards (“SWA”) and being featured as a ‘wine of the month’ in Decanter Magazine.
The 2015 Classic Cuvee was released earlier this year and is a blend of 61% Chardonnay, 23% Pinot Noir and 16% Pinot Meunier fermented in stainless steel tanks. This wine was bottled in Spring 2016 and has over seven ageing on its lees prior to release.
This elegant and complex wine boasts layers of citrussy fruits and a vibrant mineral finish. The tension and ripe citrus fruits of this dry sparkling wine work particularly well with Thai inspired recipes and is also a treat to match with fish.
